Husband Supports Wife Going Through Chemo With Sign Outside Her Window

Kelly Connor was diagnosed with breast cancer in January and her husband, Albert, has been by her side at every one of her doctor's appointments. Since the coronavirus pandemic has escalated however, Albert can no longer join his wife in-person in the office.

That didn't stop him from still showing up though!

Kelly shared a selfie from her hospital room with Albert sitting by his car outside with a sign that reads "I can't be with you but I'm here. Love you! Thank you to all staff!" and then paired with two breast cancer ribbons.

She told GMA that this was a surprise to her. "As soon as he texted me, I just kind of lifted up in my chair a little bit to peer out the window and he was just right there," she said. "It immediately brought tears to my eyes and I felt a love for him right then in that moment, that he would do that for me. I think I kind of gasped and the nurse turned around and said, 'What’s wrong?' And then she saw I was looking out the window and she looked out and started to tear up too."

Albert also told GMA that he didn't just make Kelly's day with the sign, but the nurses as well!

"A few of them said I was the reason that they come to work," he said. "The attention made me uncomfortable but it made me feel good and was very touching."
