US-TRANSPORT-METRO-PAINT

What was supposed to be three North Virginia Metro stations closed this summer will now be nine.

WJLA says that according to WMATA that they will temporarily be closing "every Silver Line station from the end of the line at Wiehle-Reston East through Tysons Corner to East Falls Church, where the Silver Line meets the Orange Line" for platform reconstruction beginning on May 23, which is Memorial Day Weekend, and will remain closed through Labor Day.

The affected stops are:

  • Wiehle-Reston East
  • Spring Hill
  • Greensboro
  • Tysons Corner
  • McLean
  • East Falls Church
  • West Falls Church
  • Dunn Loring
  • Vienna

The Ballston stop on the orange/silver line is the furthest that riders will be able to go before they'll have to switch to the shuttle service.
