Prince George's County To Begin Phase 2 Of Re-Opening On June 15

Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks has announced that PG Country will begin phase 2 of re-opening on Monday, June 15.

The modified phase 2 re-opening will consist of:

  • Retail stores can open with safeguards in place and capacity limits. Five people are allowed per 1,000 square feet, not to exceed 50 percent capacity.
  • Barbershops and salons can open by appointment only. All businesses must have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and social distancing measures must be in place.
  • Nail Salons and spas can open by appointment only. All businesses must have PPE and only one customer per 200 square feet.
  • Restaurants can open both inside and outside at 50 percent capacity. No more than six people are allowed per table and tables must be six feet apart. No more than 50 people allowed, regardless of space. Employees must have health screenings before each shift and wear face coverings.
  • Houses of worship can open with up to 25 percent capacity. Outdoor service are allowed with up to 250 people.
  • Childcare can open for essential employees and employees returning to work in Phase Two.
  • Contactless youth sports can resume with nine children and one coach. No more than 50 people at any event.
  • Outdoor pools can open up to 25 percent capacity. Indoor pools remain closed.
  • Gyms and fitness centers will remain closed.
  • Parks can open for fitness classes and non-contact sports.
  • Car washes can open with automated systems.
  • Prince George's County government workers are encouraged to continue teleworking.
