Charlie Daniels Dead At Age 83

Charlie Daniels has died at the age of 83.

The Tennessean reported that he passed away this morning (Monday, July 6) due to a hemorrhagic stroke and the news was confirmed by his publicist, Don Murry Grubbs.

Daniels' band, The Charlie Daniels Band, was most well known for their smash hit "The Devil Went Down To Georgia," which has sold almost 2.5 million copies of the song. He was a recognized artist who was inducted into Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame in 2002, the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
